Lydia was an interesting show to be the Production Electrician for as there were a lot of aspects quite unique to the production. With the roof and set pieces in place we were unable to access the surrounding lights which means we had to hang and focus those before the set went in and come up with contingencies if a light stopped working for any reason. To light the open set the designer had to create many positions to properly light the whole space. We built 1 tail down, 4 ladders, and 10 goalposts hung from the grid, much of which had to be done with an extension ladder. This was also my first time using RC4, which controlled the LED tape mounted under the bed. In the month we had from the start of school to opening night Noah and I had a crash course in creative problem solving to make this incredible production possible.
